Residents of the fishing village always have their own impressions of the sea.
The project integrates narrative visuals, sound, and charcoal drawings. The charcoal drawings depict the sea and the people and objects in front of the narrators in a way of looking into the past and recalling memories. The video captures residents returning to the original location of the fishing village to reenact childhood games and fishermen showcasing scenes of catching marlin. The sea in front of them is the same sea but also different, transformed into various forms in their memories. It's as if there's a shared past that everyone remembers, but in each person's description, there are always some missing pieces. The charcoal drawings serve as a supplement, an extension of imagination. They fill in the gaps in the videos and extend the memories of storytelling.
Is it a kind of truth in memory, an irretrievable uncertainty, or is it the sea in front of their homes?

「你家前面海是什麼樣子?」、「有大約200公尺長的沙灘」、「壞碼頭下面有珊瑚礁」、「可以抓龍蝦」,鳥踏石漁村的居民們總有自己印象中的海…
作品融合了敘事性影像、聲音、以及碳筆畫。炭筆畫以一種凝視著過去、回憶的方式,描繪著述說之人眼前的海與人事物。影像帶出居民回到漁村原地重現兒時玩耍的遊戲、漁民展現鏢旗魚的情景,他們眼前的海是同一片海但也不盡然,在他們的記憶中早已變化成各自的樣貌。 彷彿有一個大家都記得的過去,但在每個人的敘述裡卻總是有些地方兜不起來。炭筆畫像是一種補充,是想像的延伸。
它補充了影像裡的空缺,延伸了述說時的回憶。是一種記憶中的真實,是無法回溯的不確定性,或是家前面的那片海?
